RP4Baghdad

Rapid Prototyping for Baghdad (RP4Baghdad) is a humanitarian effort that supports severely injured people in Iraq by providing Iraqi surgeons with surgery equipment, prosthetic limb sockets and tangible 3D models. The effort focuses on serious cases, usually involving a head injury or a lost leg. The project has assisted the treatment of many seriously injured Iraqis. Use of rapid prototyping technology yields better preparations of the cranio-maxillofacial surgeries and better fitting prosthetics. This yields better treatment results.

RP4Baghdad was founded in June 2005 by leading companies from the rapid prototyping and manufacturing industry, such as Stratasys. The companies who founded RP4Baghdad are active in the medical sector.
